The Japanese Pink Salt and Ice dessert requires only 15 minutes to prepare before you can enjoy this unique treat. The pink salt and lemon and sugar mixture transforms into a 40-calorie shaved ice dessert through this easy recipe.   1. Combine 1 cup of water with 2 tablespoons of Japanese pink salt and 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice in a small saucepan.
  2. Stir the mixture gently while heating it on medium heat until both salt and sugar dissolve completely.
  3. After heating remove the mixture from the stove to let it reach room temperature.
  4. The mixture needs to be placed in an ice cube tray for freezing until it becomes solid during a period of 2 hours.
  5. Remove the frozen ice cubes from the tray before placing them into a blender.
  6. Blend until you achieve a light, fluffy, snow-like texture.
  7. Serve right away in bowls or cups, and don’t forget to sprinkle a little extra Japanese pink salt on top for that finishing touch!
