  1. In a large pot, combine the corn masa and water, stirring to fully dissolve masa.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  3. After boiling, reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add piloncillo (or brown sugar), and salt; stir to fully dissolve them.
  5. Remove from heat and allow it to cool to room temp.
  6. Once cool, pour the mixture through a fine sieve to remove solids.
  7. Stir in the lime juice and mix well.
  8. Serve drink over crushed ice, garnished with lime wedges.
