  3. In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch and water to a smooth consistency.
  4. When the sauce has come to a simmer, add cornstarch mixture and stir until blended.
  5. Cook an additional 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens to preferred consistency, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before serving.
