Blueberry Kombucha is a delicious and refreshing fermented tea that’s rich in probiotics and packed with antioxidants. This homemade version blends black tea, fresh blueberries, and a SCOBY culture to create a drink that’s slightly sweet, tangy, and fizzy. After fermenting for several days, it develops a rich berry flavor with natural carbonation, making it a fantastic alternative to sugary sodas. Savor this healthy, homemade kombucha and support your digestion with every sip!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a quart-sized glass jar, mix the cooled brewed black tea with sugar, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Add the fresh blueberries to the jar and gently mash them with a spoon to release their juices.
  3. Pour in the kombucha starter tea and stir well. Carefully place the SCOBY on top of the mixture.
  4. Cover the jar with a clean cloth or coffee filter and secure it with a rubber band.
  5. Allow the kombucha to ferment at room temperature for 5-7 days, tasting it daily until it reaches your preferred level of fermentation.
  6. Once it's fermented, strain out the blueberries and transfer the kombucha into bottles for storage.
