Ingredients
Directions
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
- In a saucepan, bring 300ml of coconut milk to a gentle simmer. Stir in 50g of sugar and a pinch of salt until dissolved. Set aside half of the coconut milk mixture for serving later.
- Drain the soaked rice and place it in a steamer lined with cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel. Steam the rice over boiling water for about 25 minutes, or until tender.
- Once the rice is cooked, remove it from the steamer and combine it with the remaining warm coconut milk mixture. Stir well and let it sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Meanwhile, peel and slice the ripe mangoes into thin strips.
- To serve, place a generous scoop of the sticky rice on a plate, drizzle with reserved coconut milk, and add the sliced mangoes beside it. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
