Savor the delightful, comforting taste of Oven-Baked Swedish Meatballs, a timeless dish with a creamy touch. These juicy meatballs, crafted from a balanced mix of ground beef and pork, are baked in the oven until just right and smothered in a rich, savory gravy. With the addition of Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and dried thyme, they offer a wonderful depth of flavor that complements mashed potatoes or buttered noodles perfectly. This simple yet satisfying dish is perfect for family meals or special gatherings.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about the size of a golf ball, and place them on a baking dish.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through and browned on the outside.
  6. In the meantime, prepare the sauce by whisking the flour in the cream until smooth and then adding in the beef broth gradually.
  7. Simmer on low heat until the sauce thickens, stirring continuously.
  8. Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven and pour the creamy sauce over them.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving with sides of your choice.
