Make your own Chick-fil-A waffle fries at home with this delicious and crispy recipe! These golden fries, seasoned just right, are made from russet potatoes cut into waffle shapes. Soak them to get rid of extra starch, then fry until they’re perfectly crispy. A mix of paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder gives them that iconic flavor. Enjoy them hot with your favorite dipping sauces for a fast-food experience right in your own kitchen!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Wash and peel the russet potatoes, then cut them into waffle shapes using a waffle fry cutter.
  2. Soak the cut fries in cold water in a large bowl for about 30 minutes to help remove excess starch, which is key for achieving that crispy texture.
  3. After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry with paper towels.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine vegetable oil, salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  5. Toss the fries in this mixture until they are well coated. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully add a portion of the fries to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
  7. Fry them for about 5-7 minutes until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  8. Use a slotted spoon to take the fries out of the oil and let them drain on paper towels. If you like, sprinkle some extra salt on top.
  9. Repeat the frying process with the remaining fries.
