Savor the flavors of Japan with Salmon Mayo Onigiri Recipe, a delightful rice ball stuffed with creamy salmon and wrapped in nori. Ideal for a snack or a light meal, this quick and easy recipe combines simple ingredients to create an authentic, homemade Japanese delicacy.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a rice cooker or pot, combine the rinsed rice and water. Cook according to the rice cooker's instructions or bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes until the water is absorbed.
  3. In a bowl, mix the drained salmon, mayonnaise, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and salt until well combined.
  4. Once the rice is cooked, let it cool slightly. Wet your hands to prevent sticking, then take a small amount of rice and flatten it in your palm.
  5. Place a spoonful of the salmon mixture in the center of the rice, then mold the rice around the filling to form a triangle or ball shape.
  6. Wrap a strip of nori around the onigiri for added flavor and presentation.
