Ingredients
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the strong white flour, salt, yeast, and sugar.
- Create a well in the center and add warm water, milk, and melted butter. Mix until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Allow the dough to rest for about 15 minutes, covered with a kitchen towel.
- Once rested, roll out the dough to about 2cm thick and place it on a baking tray.
- Using a knife, lightly score a cross on the top of the dough, and then sprinkle the diced ham, shredded cheese, and chopped chives evenly on top.
- Fold the dough over to create a semi-circle, ensuring fillings are enclosed, and press the edges to seal.
- Bake the stottie cake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, then cut into wedges and serve warm.
